World War II
50 million men, ages 18-45, were drafted into World War II. Survival rate of going to war since the first world war had increased quite a bit. Weapons improved, also. Tanks were weapon systems. Rifles improved, artillery fired more accurately, and planes were utilized as a resource far more.
Living conditions for soldiers varied greatly. One moment a young gent could be huddled up in a foxhole, a hole in the ground a soldier would house in for safety, and the next they could be in a tent. Or if the soldiers had captured a village, even a building. The weather also varied greatly, depending on location. Gas was less of a threat during this war, though air raids were quite feared.
